For his Spring 2013 collection, Zac Posen envisioned rich, vibrant hair color to make the runway looks truly pop. John Frieda® International Creative Consultant Harry Josh brought this vision to life, using John Frieda® Precision Foam Colour to enhance models’ shades with saturated colour and shine that complemented Zac Posen’s spring pieces. An essential part of the runway look, the hair colour brought vibrancy and brightness to Posen’s singular designs. Harry Josh chose Precision Foam Colour for its salon-quality coverage and expert colourist-selected shades, using tones that closely matched the models’ own hair colours, serving to enrich their shades rather than completely change them.

For the third consecutive season, John Frieda® Hair Care worked with lead stylist Odile collaborated with Rodarte creators Laura and Kate Mulleavy to develop a look that complemented the designers’ Fall/Winter 2014 collection—lauded by some critics as the brand’s most successful presentation to date—which was a nod to the carefree hair of the their youth. Because the hair was styled in long, messy waves, Odile utilized John Frieda® Hair Care products that would keep hair healthy while also maintaining texture, understanding that the style could veer to damaged and scraggly without the right stylers. The result: ephemeral and nostalgic creating a beautiful glow.

If a child cannot see clearly, he may have trouble learning, a problem that will impact his entire life. Jennie Garth, well-known actress and mother of three, knows firsthand that healthy vision can change everything for a child – at school and at home.
Ms. Garth, whose two older daughters struggled in school before receiving vision correction, has partnered with Alcon to launch the Eye Saw Good campaign, an initiative that highlights the important role that good eye health and clear vision play in allowing people to see the world around them and live life to the fullest. On World Mental Health Day, Janssen has announced the results of a pan-European research project: ‘Talking About Treatment in Schizophrenia: A Patient and Carer Survey’. The survey of 166 adults living with schizophrenia and 468 carers was conducted by the independent market research agency, Fieldwork International (part of Ipsos MORI), and explored awareness, feelings and preferences regarding treatment.
The survey, conducted across 12 countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK), highlighted key factors affecting the peace of mind for carers, such as the impact of the condition on day‑to-day life, potential relapse/hospitalisation and getting support beyond medication. 94% stated they reminded the person they care for to take their medication and for 49% this happens often.

Results from two national surveys of patients receiving chemotherapy and pharmacists, conducted by the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) in collaboration with Eisai Inc.,* found that 83% of patients receiving chemotherapy who have experienced chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) believe it is a side effect with which they must live. Results also showed that 95% of cancer patients surveyed believe that CINV has, at some point, had an impact on their daily lives. These national surveys are part of the Time to Talk CINV™ campaign, which aims to increase awareness among patients and caregivers about CINV prevention and the importance of speaking with their pharmacist and full healthcare team about this often preventable side effect.
“The survey results underscore the confusion patients who are undergoing chemotherapy have about CINV and the need for them to understand that there are ways to manage their symptoms so that they do not have to needlessly suffer with CINV,” said Scott Soefje, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, President, Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) and Director of Pharmacy at the University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, TX. “It is imperative that patients discuss CINV prevention early in treatment and with all members of the health care team, including pharmacists.”

Children with physical disabilities are twice as likely to be bullied, impacting their educational, physical and emotional development.* In support of National Bullying Prevention Month this October, Shriners Hospitals for Children® and award-winning actor, model and philanthropist, RJ Mitte, are once again partnering to encourage the public to help #CutTheBull.
Teens and adults alike are encouraged to visit CutTheBull.org and see how they can help create a more positive, accepting environment for kids living with disabilities. There, Shriners Hospitals will announce “RJ's Heroes”, honoring individuals who have helped reduce bullying in their communities. Supporters can also share their anti-bullying stories and purchase #CutTheBull t-shirts, with proceeds going to Shriners Hospitals for Children to provide life-changing care to kids.
Born with cerebral palsy, Mitte was bullied as a child and knows firsthand the effects it can have. The doctors and staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children helped Mitte overcome many of the physical effects of cerebral palsy, which made him stronger and able to succeed despite the bullying. Now a successful actor and model, Mitte wants to help other kids with disabilities who may be experiencing the same thing.

So we have to take care of ourself and our dear ones. It is impossible to avoid all of life's potential pitfalls and with so much conflicting advice available, it can be tempting to give up trying to prevent dangers altogether.
