The X PRIZE Foundation, an educational nonprofit prize organization, and Progressive Insurance, the country’s fourth largest auto insurance group, today, at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., awarded $10 million to three teams who successfully completed the rigorous Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE. The winning teams—Edison2 of Lynchburg, Virginia; X-Tracer of Winterthur, Switzerland; and Li-ion Motors Corp. of Mooresville, North Carolina—emerged from an original field of 111 competing teams, representing 136 vehicle entries from around the world. The winning vehicles were showcased to an audience of auto industry, business and government leaders. The Amos Family had a dream—to raise $1 million to help shelter dogs find forever homes. Now, with the help of pet industry leaders Wahl and GreaterGood.org, this dream is a reality. The Australian family of five has picked up and moved to the states, and for the next year their home will be an RV and a giant dog-shaped mobile dog washing vehicle. It’s called the Bathe to Save Tour, and its mission is to visit 150 cities in all 50 states, raise money and awareness, and wash more than 25,000 dogs to get them ready for adoption.

British luxury watch brand Christopher Ward (London) has stunned the global $23 billion Swiss watch industry by announcing the creation of its own in-house movement – the engine of the watch - Calibre SH21.
