The Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today announced its first-ever, national advertising campaign aimed at parents of children ages 8-14 to make sure their kids are consistently and properly wearing their seat belt every time the car is moving.
“Buckling up is an important habit to instill in children at a young age. As parents, we need to lead by example and reinforce the message to make sure it sticks,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. “This campaign urges parents to never give up until their kids buckle up.”

Clayton Homes is announcing that its homebuilding facility in Rutledge, Tenn., has received ISO 14001 Certification, making the company the first homebuilder among the members of the Manufactured Housing Institute to receive this achievement in the United States.*
The ISO 14001 certification is awarded to buliding facilities that have instituted international measures designed to reduce the cost of waste management and save energy consumption. The implementation of the ISO standard at the Clayton Rutledge facility will result in reduced waste, lowered consumption of energy and the promotion of the recycling of building materials, which endorses environmentally friendly operating procedures. Clayton Homes is leading the American homebuilding industry by example, putting the well being of its team members and the environment first. The continued cost savings of these green practices are one of the reasons why Clayton Homes is able to provide homeowners with affordable, smart homes.

The current student loan debt crisis in the U.S. is real. Total student loan debt currently stands at more than $1.16 trillion. And, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, student loans represent the highest amount of delinquent debt compared to all other forms of household debt, including mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards.
Gaining a college education has long been among the most important first steps towards obtaining a happy and prosperous life. The reality, however, is that most college graduates are starting their adult life deep in debt, and feeling stressed and completely unprepared to manage their financial lives. The good news is that the government has created programs to help borrowers reduce the burden caused by student loan debt. To learn more about these government programs, visit StudentAid.ed.gov.
Money Management International (MMI), along with other nonprofit organizations and consumer advocate groups, have taken additional steps to help struggling student loan borrowers understand their repayment plan options, find solutions for managing other debt obligations, and create realistic action plans for reaching overall financial success.
