NBA All-Star Paul George was only 6-years-old when his mother Paulette suffered a stroke that left her practically bedridden for two years. Today, Paulette remains partially paralyzed on the left side of her body.
“I remember every moment of it,” said the Indiana Pacers swingman. “I was always there at hospital visits, right by her bed. When she got a hospital bed in our home, I would lay in my bed next to her. I want to make sure that everyone knows the warning signs for a stroke so they can quickly take action and give their loved ones the best chance for recovery.”

Did you know up to 99% of your vehicle battery is recyclable and almost all of it can be used to make new batteries or other products?
The metals in conventional batteries are the most recycled materials in the world—more than paper, glass and cardboard. The plastic can be recycled into new battery cases and the electrolytes can be reused or made into detergents.
Johnson Controls, the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive batteries, makes new batteries from 80% recycled content—this means you could be driving a car that is powered by the same materials that were in the battery from your grandparent’s vehicle.

More than ever, Americans are looking for small steps that lead them to healthier, longer lives. They’re avoiding the office vending machine, they’re walking that extra mile, and they’re getting to the doctor’s office for their regular checkups. Now, a life insurance company wants to recognize people for these healthy habits. John Hancock, in partnership with Vitality, is offering a whole new kind of life insurance product that rewards consumers for living healthy, while protecting their loved ones. The company has teamed up with Chris O’Donnell, star of the hit drama NCIS: Los Angeles, to help consumers recognize they are in control of their physical, emotional, and financial health, and – even with a busy schedule – can take small steps to truly improve their quality of life, now.

According to the Edelman American Well-Being Study released today by Edelman Wellness 360 in partnership with Edelman Berland, consumers prioritize emotional health over physical, yet 63 percent lack clarity on how to achieve emotional well-being, like relieving stress and increasing self-esteem. While consumers say they need more support to reach both their physical and emotional health goals, the study also revealed that nearly half don’t turn to others for help and 89 percent say they are solely responsible for their well-being. This leaves consumers facing a dilemma: The well-being measures people need the most simply can’t be achieved alone.

At a time when cotton’s market share is threatened by synthetics, Cotton Incorporated responds with authenticity. The latest offerings in the 26-year run of the highly-regarded The Fabric Of Our Lives™ campaign from the not-for-profit research and promotion company focus on individual consumers and their personal stories of why cotton apparel items are their favorites.
Introducing the tagline, “Cotton. It’s Your Favorite for a Reason(SM),” the first commercial will launch on April 20 with thirty- and fifteen-second spots; additional commercials will be rolled out over the course of the year. The campaign also includes: a digital video series of consumer stories, some expanding on the stories told in the commercials; a unique, cotton-focused collaboration with online retailer Rue La La and a trade print advertisement.
