Guests at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Airport got the surprise of a lifetime, thanks to a pop-up concert by triple platinum recording artist Andy Grammer. The pop artist joined IHG® Rewards Club, the loyalty program for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), to kick-off the brand’s new Priceless Experiences promotion that brings members the excitement of the unexpected this winter. Zelda was found filthy, hungry and matted. Barely recognizable as a dog, her rescuers cleaned her up to reveal a tiny Shih Tzu. Unfortunately, Zelda’s story is similar to the nearly 8 million other animals entering shelters each year. That’s why Wahl has teamed up with GreaterGood.org to donate funds and grooming supplies to shelters nationwide. The goal: Transform more than 20,000 dogs this year and get them ready for adoption.
“Due to lack of resources, less than half of dogs entering shelters are getting the grooming they desperately need,” says Shay Moeller, pet product manager for Wahl. “First impressions are crucial, and without proper grooming, many of these dogs are perceived to be ‘damaged goods.’ By providing shelters with much-needed grooming supplies, we can transform these dogs into the healthy, fun loving pets they really are.”

Super hero fans around the country had a chance to put their own Spidey senses to the test by creating original DIY suits inspired by Sony Pictures’ new movie, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” in theaters today, Friday, July 7 in the U.S. After narrowing the entries down to 10 semi-finalists and then five finalists, one especially crafty entrant won a trip to the world premiere screening of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Tiffany Mink (@tiffmink) turned a red dress found at her local Goodwill store into a full-fledged, head-to-toe super hero outfit. Her video showing how she created the suit, along with the submissions from the other finalists, can be viewed at spidermandiy.com. Entrants were encouraged to put their super hero love to work alongside their senses of style, and to act as community heroes by sourcing materials for their suits from Goodwill, where the sale of donated goods creates job preparation, skills training, education assistance and support services for people who face challenges to finding employment. Tiff’s purchases equates to 40 minutes of job search training for a Goodwill participant.

Most of us are living in a city. Actually we do not have much time to walk around the city. Even though when we are willing to walk especially on a beautifully sunny day, we often fail to find a good place for a walk.
However, the cities are changing now. “Walkable Urbanism” has been emerging as a new global standard for urban development. There was a time when wide roads and fast traffic were regarded as key elements to determine a city’s competitiveness. But today, how much the city provides safe and comfortable walking environment is becoming more important. Urban planners from many cities including Copenhagen, London, Paris and Barcelona prioritize pedestrians, and develop diverse ideas about how to make a walkable city.
Seoul is also in line with these global efforts. As the capital of Korea, Seoul has developed and implemented policies to create more pedestrian roads and to make urban regeneration through this. Among others, Won-Soon Park, Mayor of Seoul, is in the lead to transform Seoul into a walkable city.
