Schick®Hydro® announced today its partnership with Paramount Pictures’ new movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, directed by Michael Bay, in theaters June 21, demonstrating how the brand continues to innovate the shaving category and brings to life the transformative powers of a great shave. The partnership highlights Hydrobot, the Schick Hydro iconic hero, a razor designed like no other, and leverages the platform, “Technology That Transforms” through a new TV commercial and Limited-Edition, collectible razors.
The collaboration debuts with a new TV commercial, directed by Bay, the renowned filmmaker and director of all five of the Transformers feature films inspired by the iconic brand from Hasbro. The exclusive spot features the Schick Hydro 5 razor converting into Hydrobot, with a fist bump from Optimus Prime for protecting mankind, one face at a time.

Emmy Award-nominated actor and producer John Stamos (FULLER HOUSE, SCREAM QUEENS) is set to host the 37th annual edition of PBS’ A CAPITOL FOURTH, broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The all-star musical and fireworks extravaganza will kick off the country’s 241st birthday with performances by: iconic multi-platinum selling music legends The Beach Boys, with special guests John Stamos (drums) and Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath (vocals); soul men Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi of The Blues Brothers; legendary Motown stars The Four Tops; THE VOICE Season 12 winner Chris Blue; acclaimed country music singer and songwriter Kellie Pickler; Grammy-nominated gospel legend Yolanda Adams; and Broadway star and two-time Tony Award-nominee Laura Osnes (BANDSTAND); with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly. Multi-talented actress and singer Sofia Carson (DESCENDENTS 2) will open the show with a special performance of the “National Anthem.”

GAC Motor has officially kicked off a wetland ambassador program (“the Program”) in Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve (SNNR), the newest program to come from the three-year eco-conservation partnership among GAC Motor, SNNR and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The Program aims to perform wildlife surveys, educational tours, help local NGOs and visit communities to encourage more people to support eco-conservation and sustainable development.

A first-of-a-kind neural stem cell therapy that works with a common cold virus to seek out and attack a lethal and aggressive brain cancer is being tested at Northwestern Medicine in a Phase I clinical trial for patients newly diagnosed with malignant glioma.
The novel drug to treat malignant glioma, notorious for recurring after typical bouts of standard cancer treatment, was developed by a Northwestern scientist and has been approved as an investigational drug by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This is only the second time the University has supported and filed an investigational new drug as a sponsor.

Continuing a multi-year string of quality and reliability awards and accolades, J.D. Power’s 2017 Initial Quality Study (IQS) today recognized Kia Motors as the highest-ranking nameplate in the United States for the second year in a row. Kia’s improvement to 72 problems per 100 vehicles marks the best nameplate performance within the last 20 years of the study, driven by five segment awards – the most of any nameplate — for the Soul (Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle), Forte (Compact Car), Cadenza (Large Car), Niro (Small SUV) and Sorento (Midsize SUV). The Kia Soul took home an IQS award for the third consecutive year while Kia’s two newest models, Cadenza and Niro, were outstanding performers in their first model year, with the Kia Cadenza earning the top score among all models ranked in the study. Together with the Optima and Sportage , each of the seven award eligible Kia models included in the 2017 IQS study finished first or second in their respective categories.
