The largest candy-consumption night of the year is right around the corner. More than 80 percent of parents say their kids will participate in a Halloween celebration (2), and when asked about concerns related to Halloween, more than two-thirds of parents say they are worried about their children’s teeth, according to a recent Ad Council survey (1). However, three out of four parents report that their kids sometimes or frequently forget to brush their teeth on a daily basis. With cavities being a top concern, the Kids’ Healthy Mouths campaign is celebrating National Brush Day® on Sunday, November 1, the day after Halloween, to emphasize the importance of brushing for two minutes, twice a day, every day.

Last Tuesday night, Laetitia Casta and La Maison Cointreau announced the launch of the Cointreau Creative Crew in the Pompadour Ballroom at the Hotel Café Royal in London. A worldwide philanthropist programme curated by Creative Director Laetitia Casta, the Cointreau Creative Crew aims to develop women’s freedom and encourage them to make their dreams a reality. Launching for the first time in the UK, this programme will culminate in one entrepreneur being awarded a £20,000 bursary to support their creative project which will be announced in Spring 2016.
Decorated with Cointreau elegantly dressed in soft furnishings and floral arrangements, the Pompadour Ballroom played host to 150 guests on the night. The former French model looked stunning and was joined on the night by a host of A-list celebrities including Ella Eyre, Donna Air, Charlie XCX and Laetitia Casta. The nation’s largest provider of senior living solutions is offering tips for those who are concerned about showing signs of memory loss. These guidelines come along with Alzheimer’s Awareness month, celebrated each year in November.
“Here at Brookdale, we have a simple formula for people who may be worried about memory loss as it relates to Alzheimer’s and dementia, whether for themselves or for a loved one,” said Kelly Scott Lindstrom, Vice President of Dementia Care for Brookdale.
According to Lindstrom, three steps can help a person prepare for a potential Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
First, know the signs of Alzheimer’s disease. There are 10 common signs, and just because an individual may exhibit a couple of them doesn’t mean he or she has developed dementia.
Next, talk with your doctor, and he or she can help decipher a potential diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or if it is something unrelated.
