Allied Universal, a leading facility services company and the largest security force in North America, together with John Jay College and the Metropolitan Healthcare Security Directors Association (MHSDA), will host a “Plan to Live” seminar to educate healthcare providers on best practices to handle an active shooter situation and other threats. The free seminar will be held Tues., May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the college’s Moot Court at 899 10th Avenue, New York City.
“Active shooters are not the only risks that healthcare facilities face,” said Kevin Francis, Business Development Specialist, Allied Universal. “Healthcare facilities may encounter aggressive assailants, bomb threats, and terrorist attacks. Mexico has seen rapid growth in its meetings industry, reporting a 10.4% increase of business in the first two months of the year when compared to the same period in 2016, announced the Mexico Tourism Board. According to the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA), Mexico now ranks 5th in the Americas in terms of the number of hosted events, which have now reached 182 world congresses and more than 300,000 meetings in 2016. These numbers are a direct result of Mexico’s global initiative to position and promote Mexico as Latin America’s leader in the world congress arena.

Sometimes, a reliable set of wheels is all that stands between a veteran and their dreams. This month, more than 100 veterans and their families will be getting keys to newly-refurbished vehicles as part of Progressive’s fifth annual Keys to Progress® event. This year, Progressive will donate its 500th vehicle. The vehicle giveaways will occur on November 9 at 68 locations across the country, including Progressive Service Centers, one-stop facilities where Progressive handles claims and coordinates repairs for customers.
