Estée Lauder announces the launch of The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder, a bold new collection of makeup and skincare created for the beauty-obsessed, social media generation. The collection launches today in 320 Sephora U.S. and Canada stores, and is also available on Sephora.com and Sephora.ca.
“Our founder, Estée Lauder, invented the beauty business as we know it,” said Jane Hertzmark Hudis, group president, The Estée Lauder Companies. “So we asked ourselves, ‘If Estée was re-inventing the beauty business for Sephora today, what would she do?’ The answer is The Estée Edit.”

The packaging features signature elements originally created by Estée herself but with a twist, resulting in silver and white fluted packaging with cobalt blue paint splatter graphics.

Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, was on hand last month as Blazing Hope Ranch, a nonprofit organization in Dayton, Tenn., that aids survivors of human trafficking, commemorated its new H.O.P.E. Haven facilities at a recent dedication ceremony.
H.O.P.E. -- Healing, Opportunity, Protection and Education -- Haven will serve as transitional living quarters for the survivors in the Blazing Hope Ranch program. In 2016 Vanderbilt Mortgage donated two modular homes previously used for company housing to Blazing Hope Ranch that currently make up H.O.P.E. Haven. The four bedroom, two bathroom homes will be used to house female survivors and live-in mentors while they go through the organization’s program.

A level IV trauma center in Washington State has installed copper components throughout its facility as another way of reducing hospital-acquired infections and keeping their patients safe.
Pullman Regional Hospital has become an early adopter of antimicrobial copper after studies found that the age-old metal could continuously kill deadly bacteria.
Each year, 2 million people in the United States are diagnosed with a hospital-acquired infection and nearly 100,000 people die. These infections are caused by common bacteria such as E. coli, MRSA, C. diff, CRE and VRE.
“It is a very serious problem,” said Ed Harrich, the director of surgical services for Pullman Regional Hospital. “I think every hospital across the nation is doing everything they can to try to deal with it the best that they can. But there’s bioburden on everything and people aren’t good at hand washing and there’s cross-contamination everywhere you go.”

Der Standardsprint von 0 auf 100 km/h dauert 5,2 Sekunden, die Höchstgeschwindigkeit wird bei 250 km/h elektronisch abgeregelt. Der bärenstarke 2,5-Liter-Fünfzylinder-Turbo verbraucht im Durchschnitt nur 8,8 Liter Kraftstoff pro 100 Kilometer (206 Gramm CO2 pro Kilometer. Sein Basispreis: 54.600 Euro. In jedem Detail des RS Q3 überzeugt die sportliche RS-Philosophie, die damit eine neue Klasse im SUV-Segment begründet. Mit dem 2.5 TFSI arbeitet ein mehrfach preisgekrönter Hochleistungsmotor unter der Haube des RS Q3. Der turboaufgeladene Direkteinspritzer schöpft aus 2.480 ccm Hubraum eine Höchstleistung von 228 kW 310 PS und liefert 420 Newtonmeter Drehmoment, das zwischen 1.500 und 5.200 Umdrehungen pro Minute anliegt. Mit diesen Werten ist der RS Q3 in seinem Umfeld ohne Konkurrenz. Der Audi RS Q3 beschleunigt laut Audi-Angaben in 5,2 Sekunden aus dem Stand auf 100 km/h, die Höchstgeschwindigkeit wird bei 250 km/h elektronisch abgeregelt. Wichtiger ist aber das Fahrgefühl, dass der RS Q3 bei ersten Testfahrten vermittelte. Und das war bei ersten Testfahrten innerhalb der Audi Alpen Tour einfach nur beeindruckend - egal ob nun auf kurviger Landstraße, Autobahn oder Passstraße. Egal, ob im Cruiser Tempo oder bei sehr flottem Fortkommen, was man übrigens wirklich nicht an der Tankstelle bereuen muss. Der Normverbrauch ist zwar wie üblich, Theorie, doch Effizienz-Technologien wie ein serienmäßiges Start-Stop-System und eine geregelte Ölpumpe tragen dazu bei, dass man auf jeden Fall unter zehn Liter auf 100 Kilometer bleiben sollte. Effektiv -das serienmäßige Fahrdynamiksystem Audi drive select, das drei wirklich unterschiedliche Betriebsmodi bietet. Als Kraftübertragung dient eine kompakte Siebengang S tronic. Der Fahrer kann das Doppelkupplungsgetriebe in den Programmen D und S automatisiert arbeiten lassen oder die Gänge selbst wechseln - mit den Wippen am Lenkrad oder mit dem RS-spezifischen Wählhebel. Die hydraulisch betätigte und elektronisch geregelte Lamellenkupplung bildet das Herzstück des permanenten Allradantriebs quattro. Im regulären Fahrbetrieb leitet sie die Antriebsmomente zum größten Teil an die vordere Achse, bei Bedarf kann sie sie blitzschnell teilweise oder ganz nach hinten schicken.
