Today Fetzer Vineyards, a pioneer in sustainable winegrowing, announces the release of Road to Regeneration: Corporate Consciousness Report, highlighting key milestones achieved through 2016 and plans for a Net Positive future. The release of Fetzer Vineyards’ first-ever sustainability report marks an important step in the company’s sustainability journey, particularly as the historic California vintner approaches its 50th year of Earth-friendly winegrowing in 2018. The release of Road to Regeneration also comes just days before the commencement of COP23, the 2017 United Nations’ Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany, where Fetzer Vineyards will receive a Momentum for Change award from the UN for its leadership in modeling sustainable practices for the wine industry. Havana will host the XVIII edition of the Habanos Festival, from February 29 to March 4, and present the most important launches for 2016. This year, Cohiba, the most exclusive Habanos brand, will play a special role because of its 50 Anniversary. The Hoyo de Monterrey brand will also have a significant presence with the presentation of Reserva Cosecha 2012. The Cuaba brand, celebrating its 20th Anniversary, will be launching an exclusive special edition for La Casa del Habano and the H. Upmann brand will introduce a significant addition to its regular line.
For five days, the guests attending the XVIII Habanos Festival will enjoy a full agenda focused on the world’s best tobacco. Lupe Maldonado will tell you, “education is key.” That’s because it’s what helped her and her family create a brighter future. Their story started in a garage in Torrance, Calif., more than 20 years ago. That’s where they lived when they came to the U.S. No bathroom. No running water; a mattress on the bare floor. They covered up the holes to keep out the cold and the mice. While it may have been a bleak start, Lupe says just being in America was a dream come true.
While Ismael worked 12 hour days to support his family, Lupe joined a new program at her son’s elementary school called the Toyota Family Literacy Program in order to learn English. It was a tough decision, going to school instead of getting a job that could provide the money needed to move out of that garage; but Ismael and Lupe knew if she could learn English, she could advocate for their boys with teachers, doctors and in the community. Ismael also enrolled in English classes.

In this clinical trial, overweight women were given either a daily five gram dose of Appethyl or a control drink immediately before breakfast. Researchers found that the weight of the women ingesting Appethyl decreased significantly at 43 percent more than subjects ingesting the control drink.
This is one of three studies that also compared the effects of Appethyl after 90 days with those found after the first dose and found no decline of effects, indicating that Appethyl takes effect after the first dose and is just as effective after long-term use. One study showed that Appethyl reduced hunger by 25 percent four hours after consumption, in addition to reducing thoughts about food by 33 percent.

According to a recent survey, high energy prices already have forced more than 40 percent of low-income seniors to go without needed medical or dental care, and even to skip meals or shut off the heat on cold days.
It may seem odd to be predicting another energy price spike since oil, natural gas and coal prices have all fallen recently. But it’s not the market that will be driving prices higher. It’s politics.
