BLACK+DECKER™ has joined Habitat for Humanity’s first nationwide cause campaign, Home is the Key (#HomeIsTheKey), in raising awareness throughout April of the critical need for improved access to decent shelter. Funds raised during the campaign will allow Habitat to partner with more families and unlock better, stable futures. BLACK+DECKER understands the significance of calling a place home and is proud to support this important initiative.
“We are thrilled to be part of a movement that will help open more doors to affordable homeownership,” said Allison Nicolaidis, Chief Marketing Officer for Global Tools & Storage at Stanley Black & Decker. “Studies have shown that a stable home plays a key role in positively influencing a family’s education, health and financial opportunities. We feel that the BLACK+DECKER mission of turning the place you live into a home goes hand-in-hand with this campaign.”

As millions of Americans begin choosing a health plan for the first time under the Affordable Care Act, the new Healthgrades American Hospital Quality Outcomes 2014: Report to the Nation released today reveals how hospital selection can dramatically impact a patient’s health. The report demonstrates that individuals are far more likely to die or suffer complications at hospitals receiving the lowest Healthgrades rating. In fact, each year an estimated 234,252 lives could potentially be saved and 157,418 complications could be avoided if all hospitals performed similarly to the highest rated hospitals.

Clayton, one of the largest builders of manufactured, modular and site-built homes combined in America, has released a series of videos that highlights the stories of its team members and their experiences working for the company over the years in their various job roles.
The “I am Clayton” video series shares the different steps it takes to help a customer achieve homeownership through the words of Clayton employees at every touchpoint. The series features testimonials from the real people who work day-in and day-out to contribute to building some of the best quality, affordable homes in the U.S. The videos cast team members who work in several different areas—from home builders to website developers—and allows them to tell their Clayton story in their own words.
