The 2014 Chicago Auto Show is now open to the public. Held in the McCormick Place complex, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. Exhibitions include: multiple world and North American introductions; a complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars and trucks; sport utility vehicles; and experimental or concept cars. In total, nearly 1,000 different vehicles will be on display.

Many large-scale international conventions and exhibitions were held in Chengdu during 2013, bringing a notably higher level of international recognition to the city’s convention and exhibition industry and efficiently promoting the development of trade and commerce across the city. During this year's Fortune Global Forum that also took place in Chengdu, Global 500 companies and other well-known multinationals signed 74 investment deals, bringing in an aggregate investment of 112 billion yuan (approx. $US18 billion). On December 4, 2013 a new Pulkovo Terminal 1 has started operating. Its total area exceeds 110,000 sq. m and it has a maximum capacity of 17 million passengers per year.
In the new terminal there are 88 check-in counters, 110 passport control booths, and 7 baggage belts, one of which can alternatively handle the luggage of passengers arriving by domestic or international flights. The terminal is equipped with jetways, 45 elevators, and 17 escalators. In compliance with the requirements of a barrier-free environment the terminal facilities are fully accessible for the people with disabilities.

The Amgen Foundation today announced $2.5 million in new grants for the Amgen Biotech Experience, an innovative science education program, bringing the total committed to nearly $8 million since the program’s inception in 1990. The Amgen Biotech Experience provides a real-world biotech lab experience to middle and high schools in Amgen’s U.S. and United Kingdom (U.K.) communities and will engage more than 50,000 students this year. Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), a global nonprofit organization that creates learning opportunities around the world, has also been named Program Office to oversee the program’s implementation and facilitate its continued development.

NRG Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NRG), NRG Yield, Inc. (NYSE: NYLD), and SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWR) today announced the completion of the final phase of the California Valley Solar Ranch (CVSR) photovoltaic (PV) generating facility in San Luis Obispo County, California, bringing total electric generating capacity of the plant up to 250 megawatts (AC). NRG acquired CVSR from SunPower in 2011, and the project is jointly owned by NRG Yield (48.95%). CVSR is one of the world’s largest operating solar PV power plants and will sell its electricity to Pacific Gas & Electric under two long-term power purchase agreements.
