Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE: AVP) today announced the launch of Beauty for a Purpose, a new global brand statement focused on the company’s commitment to empowering Avon Representatives and women around the world through beauty and financial independence.
Beauty for a Purpose provides a framework for the company to champion three defining areas: Avon’s beauty products of demonstrable quality and value; Avon’s earning opportunity, which allows millions of women around the world to build self-reliance and a better life for themselves and their families; and the network effect of empowered women empowering others.
The new branding effort will be powered through ongoing multi-channel communications campaigns designed to tell the whole Avon story to consumers and Representatives. The campaigns will be supported through paid media, and will also leverage the company’s digital and print channels as story-telling platforms. Central to the strategy is the launch of a new brand publishing site, BeautyforaPurpose.com, which includes a digital gallery featuring Avon Representatives around the world who have uploaded their photos to social media using #BeautyforaPurpose.

“Small Business Big Game" Ad Winner
Ad spending for commercials during Super Bowl 50, set to broadcast on CBS on Feb. 7, will total a record $377 million, according to Advertising Age Datacenter’s estimates. That’s more than the combined spend on all Super Bowl ads in the 1960s, '70s and '80s with a total of $299 million.
For all those interested in the pop culture phenomenon sure to unfold during Super Bowl’s commercial breaks, Advertising Age has launched its Super Bowl 50 Special Report. The hub, which will be updated daily before and several days after the game, is chock-full of news, trends, data and videos about the evolution of Super Bowl commercials over the last 50 years. The unique sounds of South Africa reverberated through the streets of Manhattan earlier today during a free mobile pop-up concert hosted by South African Tourism honoring South Africa’s 20th anniversary of freedom and democracy. Featuring performances by two of South Africa’s most renowned Grammy-nominated musical icons, legendary trumpeter, Hugh Masekela and vocalist, Vusi Mahlasela, the special celebration was a dazzling showcase of South Africa’s vibrant culture and dynamic musical identity.

Al Maryah Island hosted Abu Dhabi’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration, a spectacular evening of music and fireworks. Thousands of families and friends filled the island’s waterfront Promenade where they enjoyed an electrifying concert with Emirati star Hussain Al Jassmi, Egyptian pop sensation Mohamed Hamaki, and winner of Arab Idol 2015, Mohammed Assaf.
More than 10,000 people enjoyed hearing their favourite songs performed during the five-hour show, which culminated in an exhilarating midnight countdown, followed by a breath-taking firework display.
The evening was a landmark occasion in Al Maryah Island’s colourful events calendar and was staged through a partnership between Mubadala and Platinum Records, the leading record label company which operates under the umbrella of MBC Group.
