The annual East-West debates of the Eurasian Media Forum (EAMF) closed here with an announcement that the next meeting will take place within the context of Kazakhstan’s world exhibition, Astana EXPO-2017, on June 22-23 next year.
The Forum will be held at one of the platforms of the exhibition in the capital of Kazakhstan, The Chairperson of the Forum’s Organizing Committee, Dariga Nazarbayeva, announced at the end of the Forum.
This year’s Forum, the 13th in a series, brought together more than 550 delegates for three days, from April 20-22, in the heart of Central Asia to discuss the most pressing current issues.
Summing up at the final session, Dr Nazarbayeva said all the harsh developments taking place in the world today were caused not by a conflict of civilizations, but by the process of adaptation of different civilizations, getting used to each other.

The G-Global info-communicative platform hosted an online conference on the 19th March on the theme “Draft Plan for overcoming long-term consequences of the global financial and economic crisis for UN Member States” in preparation for the second World Anti-Crisis Conference to be held in the Kazakhstan capital, Astana, on 21-23 May 2014. Mark Uzan, director of the Renovating Bretton Woods Committee, moderated the online-conference in which international and Kazakhstan experts participated. They reached agreement on a consolidated draft Plan for overcoming long-term consequences of the global financial and economic crisis for UN Member States (Plan) on which the international expert community has been actively working.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held, bringing together more than 12,000 participants from 133 countries, including media representatives and business and government delegations. On June 16, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, and Chairman of the SPIEF Organizing Committee Sergei Prikhodko gave a welcome address at the official opening of the Forum. Heads of states, government officials, and executives from leading international companies and organizations gathered in St. Petersburg for one of the key global business events of the year.

This year Krakow will host the UNESCO World Heritage Committee session, the European Lotteries Congress and the European Congress of Transplantology Nurses. Adding prestige to Krakow are industry awards, with no other venue receiving the Meetings Star Award two years running. This year’s event schedule will determine the fortunes of Krakow in years to come.
