As Child Passenger Safety Week wraps up, the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is launching a new Car Seat Finder Tool, adding the ability to look up car seat recalls on its mobile app, and reminding parents and caregivers to register their child's car seat through its new campaign – “Don't Delay. Register Your Car Seat Today.” Every 34 seconds, a child under the age of 13 is involved in a crash and more than a third of children killed in crashes were not in car seats or wearing seat belts. NHTSA's new Car Seat Finder Tool is aimed at helping parents select the right car seat or booster seat for their child, while the campaign reminds everyone of the importance of registering car seats to receive important safety recall notifications.

Cycle for Survival, the nationwide movement to beat rare cancers, brought hundreds of supporters to Times Square on Friday for its second annual Times Square Takeover, an all-day celebration featuring high-energy stationary cycling sessions.
The day kicked off Cycle for Survival’s ninth year and the launch of registration for its 2015 events across the country.

Persistent deterioration of short-term memory, progressive confusion and disorientation and frequent agitation are characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease. We have been told that it is largely genetic but that there are some things that can be done to reduce the severity or how early the onset is. We can’t change our genetic makeup but we can change our behavior to help mitigate the effects of this type of dementia. The European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) today announces European-wide ‘Early Diagnosis Days’ taking place on Wednesday 24 September as part of this year’s Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week (22–26 September). This follows the success of the 2013 campaign, where nearly 100 ‘Early Diagnosis Days’ took place. More than 5,000 patients were seen by a healthcare provider in 1 day, resulting in a referral rate of approximately 5% and multiple diagnoses of the disease.
