Automakers from around the globe are gearing up for the grand opening of the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, which opens to the public on 10am. Saturday, Feb. 11, at McCormick Place.
Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle are expected to be on hand Saturday, Feb. 11 for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which will officially open the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. With more than one million sq. ft. of exhibit space, the show is the largest in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent.
Taking center stage at the 109th edition of the Chicago Auto Show are more than 20 vehicles that made their world debut during this week’s Media Preview, including Dodge Durango SRT; Ford Expedition; Hyundai Elantra GT; Mitsubishi Outlander Sport; Nissan TITAN King Cab and Midnight Editions; TRD Sport editions of the Toyota Tundra and Sequoia; Subaru Legacy; and Volkswagen Atlas Weekend Edition Concept.

Nestlé today celebrated the grand opening of its new Nestlé Research & Development Center in Solon, Ohio, and marked the completion of a $50 million, two-year project to establish this global center dedicated to transforming the way the world enjoys frozen and chilled foods. In the new 144,000 square foot facility, Nestlé R&D Solon will balance consumer-centered innovation with technology leadership.

The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism has successfully completed its Templestay and Temple food exhibition, experience and lecture on the theme of 'Pyeongchang Winter Olympics with Templestay' in New York, the city of global culture, from September 24 through 30, 2017.
In addition to the New York citizens, this event introduces Templestay and temple food to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York, Korean Cultural Center New York, Korea Tourism Organization New York Office and related officials in Korea, cultural arts associations, local media in New York.
Over 100 participants experienced various Templestay activities and temple food tasting at the Astor Center, New York. Among them, the lotus flower lantern making was the most popular activity, and Ssambap and natural potato chips were particularly among the food favorites.

Volvo Cars is looking ahead to when its drivers can sit back and enjoy free time in their car on the daily commute.
At the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Volvo revealed that it is developing intelligent, high bandwidth, streaming capabilities with its technology partner, Ericsson, that will ensure drivers and passengers get the most out of their time travelling in an autonomous Volvo.
“We recently unveiled our design vision for fully autonomous cars with Concept 26. Now we are actively working on future solutions to deliver the best user experience in fully autonomous mode. Imagine a highway full of autonomous cars with their occupants sitting back watching their favourite TV shows in high definition. GAC Motor has hosted the first launch of new cars in China at the 17th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2017) hosted from April 19 to 28 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
GAC Motor’s exhibition themed “Ingenuity in Mind, Excellence in Pursuit” will take stage in pavilion 2.1. Western China International Expo Center was fully completed by the end of August, which will be serving as the permanent venue for the Western China International Fair, a main venue for large scale exhibitions and fairs as well as platform for major high-end commercial and business events.
Western China International Expo Center has an area of 300,000 square meters divided into 16 halls in eight pavilions, including 15 standard exhibition halls and one multi-function hall. Each pavilion is connected by passages inside except the external transportation hall. WCIEC (Western China International Expo Center) adopted steel shuttle-shaped truss columns structure which widens the unblocked view with the no-column design the interior. Meanwhile the conception maximizes the usage efficiency of the pavilions which to lower the amount of steel used in construction.

Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the global interconnection and data center company, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Charles Meyers to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Meyers will also join Equinix’s Board of Directors. He succeeds Peter Van Camp, who has served as interim CEO since January 2018.
