Hello this is Srini Saripalli and I welcome you to Gorichonline.com and on this recording today I want to share with you a unique technique “on how to deal with your affiliate checks”. Now this technique is not that new and not that unique it had been there for a long time, I explored this in real-estate, when I was doing lot of deals. But then this is all about managing your affiliate checks and let me demonstrate to you what the problem is and then I will show exactly what I do and how I solve it. Now if you are getting a lot of physical checks, if you are an affiliate marketer and you get paid through physical checks and if you are getting lot of them may be 20 or 30 of them, most people what they do is they get the checks and they go to the Bank and deposit them at once. When that happen the Bank gives them a slip. Right? One deposit slip for the whole amount. So let’s say you received like 10 checks to day each is $100. You go to the Bank, you deposit 10 checks $100 each you get a deposit slip from the Bank for $1000. Now 2 or 3 months from now if you want to really know how you got those $ 1000 and what is the true break up of that $1000 is, you may not be able to find it out because what has happened is you just got summarized to $1000, you don’t know who paid you, who didn’t pay you and how this $1000 was accounted for. Now to solve this problem what I did is and what I do is every time I get a physical check, here is an example. Here is a $571 check. Every time I get a check like this I take a photocopy of this. So here is a photocopy of the check. Here is the physical check and here is the photo copy of it and I go to the bank and I deposit this check – I do individual deposits- I deposit just this check and I get a deposit slip. So for $571 I take that and I paste the deposit slip right here right below the check and then I file it in a folder. At the end of the month I go to my Bank’s website. I download my monthly statement – the pdf file I take a print out and then I take this check and attach to the statement and on the Statement I find the line item which shows me $571 and then I circle saying that it is exactly that’s the amount is the check and here is the date it was issued to me, here is the date it was deposited and everything is good. This is for tracking purposes. If you are marketer, you are getting lot of traffic, I hope you are tracking your traffic, the people teaching you how to track traffic and this blog is all about tracking traffic too. But then not many people talk about tracking affiliate checks. Now if you have multiple checks, let us say in this case it is a $571 check, here is $65 check. Right? It is a second check. Here it is $49 check. So I have like 3 checks to day, I need to deposit. So all I do is I take 3 different photocopies of these checks and then I go to Bank and I do individual deposits so I can get back individual deposit slips. So I do 3 deposits, I get 3 deposit slips back, I attach them to the photo copies. And here it goes $571 deposit slip, this is for $65 – so the deposit slip goes here and at the end of the month I take a – you know- I download the statement from the Bank’s website, take a print out of that – I do multiple printouts may be three copies this time- and then I will attach these checks to the Bank’s statement and that’s about it. So this is again to see exactly who is paying me and whether that amount got credited to my account or not. This is the way I track it. Now if you are getting 100s of affiliate checks and there are people who get that and I recommend this is not a good strategy because now you are having 100 physical papers to store and 100 physical printouts of your statements. Now what I am exploring in my business today is to scan these statements and trying to attach them and put them into a terabyte storage which I have in my Office now. So if you are getting 100s of affiliate checks then try to see if you can get paid through PayPal. That is a better way of dealing with it. But then
